Petrichor, Vagabond and the Ballet: The Stories Behind the Designs

Most of our designs come straight from 070 Shake's records and shows. If you've ever wondered what a print refers to, here's the story behind each one.

What does Petrichor mean?

Petrichor is the earthy smell that rises when rain falls on dry ground. It's also the title of 070 Shake's 2024 album, and an image of finding something beautiful after a hard time. That's why so many designs here are about rain: a varsity P in falling raindrops, an umbrella over the title, a wisp of smoke through the word.

Where does Vagabond come from?

Vagabond is a track from Petrichor. Our design sets the title in a fat retro script in warm orange, like the front of an old team jersey.

What was A Night at the Ballet?

On 7 November 2024, a few days before Petrichor came out, 070 Shake staged A Night at the Ballet at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles: a one-off show where dancers moved to the new songs. Our design is set like the programme from that night, with a ballerina on the back.

The Petrichor tour prints

In 2025, 070 Shake took Petrichor on the road, starting in Atlanta and moving across North America before heading to Europe. Two of our designs carry the city list on the back, from Atlanta to London.

And You Can't Kill Me

The 2022 album gets a painted portrait on the front and its title in huge stacked letters on the back.
